The Academic Leadership component of Magee's Center of Excellence (CoE) concentrates on improving the balance of representation of women in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine faculty. Leadership efforts are to:
Strengthen existing and develop new approaches to fostering the recruitment,
retention and promotion of culturally-diverse women in academic medicine.
Develop strategies for increasing the preparedness of women to take senior
leadership positions such as deans, department heads and division heads.
Develop more leadership opportunities for women in academic medicine.
Collaborate with representatives from multiple departments of the University of Pittsburgh,
including the Office for Career Development, to advance the position of women in academic medicine.
Enhance the career development of women in academic medicine.
