Magee-Womens Hospital, in collaboration with other CoEs, is working hard to enhance medical education by insuring the appropriate training in womens health. The CoE professional education initiatives are to:
Identify knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for physicians to be competent in the care of all women, including minority women.
Provide leadership in curriculum revision in medical education to better provide training for all physicians on the particular health needs of women.
Require and track gender-specific medical continuing education. In 2002, Magee introduced the Gender-Based Education Series for Physicians.
