| Babysitting Basics |
| This four-hour program for adolescents 10 years and older explores the responsibilities and expectations for safe childcare and a rewarding babysitting experience. Topics include basic childcare (diapering, dressing, hygiene and feeding), coping with safety hazards (fire, poisoning, strangers), age-appropriate holding, and responsibilities of both sitters and parents. Learning aids such as videos of real-life babysitting situations, in addition to a variety of handouts, reinforce the training session. The class fee includes an American Red Cross Babysitting Handbook, Emergency Reference Guide, and CD-Rom for each participant. |
